Sell As-Is Check ("we," "us") operates sellasischeck.com and the Sell As-Is Check plugin for ChatGPT. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who receives it, and how long we keep it.
Information you give us
When you submit a form on this site you may provide your name, email address, phone number, city and state, the property address, your situation (for example that you are behind on your mortgage or have inherited a house), the home's condition, your timeline, a mortgage balance, and anything you write in the message box. Providing this information is voluntary; you can use the calculator and read the site without submitting any of it.
The calculator
The net-sheet calculator on our home page sends the figures you enter (state, value or purchase price and year, condition, repair estimate, mortgage balance, monthly costs) to our server, which returns the estimate. Those figures are used only to compute the result and are not stored, linked to you, or shared. They are not included in a request to us unless you submit the review form, which attaches a one-line summary of your estimate so we can see what you were looking at.
The ChatGPT plugin
The Sell As-Is Check plugin runs inside ChatGPT. It receives only the state and the optional details (estimated value, purchase price and year, condition, repairs, mortgage balance, foreclosure stage or sale date, probate status) that you or ChatGPT send to it in order to produce an estimate or state guide, returns the result, and stores nothing. No account is created, no cookies are set, and no personal information is retained by the plugin. Links from the plugin to this site carry the state and topic you asked about and standard campaign (UTM) tags so we know the visit came from the plugin. Anything you enter after clicking through to this website is covered by this policy. What you type into ChatGPT itself is governed by OpenAI's privacy policy.
How we use your information and who receives it
- To prepare your as-is review and respond to your request.
- To connect you with home buyers, real estate agents, housing counselors, attorneys or other advisors who can help with your request. These partners may contact you directly by phone, email or text about your request, and some compensate us for referrals.
- To improve the site, the plugin and our estimates, in aggregate.
We do not sell your information to data brokers or use it for unrelated advertising. We share it only as described above, with service providers who host the site and send our email, or when required by law.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites we receive standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring page) and we may use privacy-respecting analytics. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. We use your IP address to limit abusive or automated form submissions.
How long we keep it
- Form submissions (name, contact details, property and situation details, message): kept for up to 24 months from the date you submit, so we can follow up on your request and answer questions about it, then deleted or anonymized.
- Calculator inputs and plugin requests: not stored. They exist only for the moment needed to compute the result.
- Server logs and rate-limit records: kept for up to 90 days.
- Email we exchange with you: kept for up to 24 months after the last message.
Partners we refer your request to keep it under their own policies. You can ask us to delete your submission sooner at any time.
Children
This site and the plugin are intended for adult homeowners and heirs. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your choices
You can ask us to correct or delete the information you submitted, or to stop contacting you, at any time through our contact page. You can opt out of text messages by replying STOP and of emails by using the unsubscribe link or replying with your request.
